Guitar, Piano, Bass, Songwriting
My professional music career began as a young teenager playing in church. Since then, I have served as a backing guitarist and frontman for various bands, artists and churches in the Houston and Nashville areas. I am classically trained in guitar and piano and obtained my music degree in Commercial Music from Belmont University in Nashville. With over fifteen years of experience studying and playing various styles of music, including Blues, Rock, Pop, Country, Classical, and Jazz, I can incorporate each into my teaching depending on the student’s interests. I also have expertise in playing slide guitar and lap steel. My philosophy is first to teach students how to create music to motivate them to play and practice. It is then easier to introduce music theory concepts along the way. I believe a teacher must inspire as they teach while also being able to adapt to each student's individual needs.
