Guitar

I’ve been playing, producing, and teaching music for over 30 years, and I’m still in love with it. After graduating from Berklee College of Music, I had the chance to play and tour with some amazing artists—Kirk Whalum, Dianne Reeves, Patrice Rushen, Rachel Rachel, and the Houston POPS Orchestra. I’ve also spent countless hours in the studio with jazz, rock, and Christian worship artists.
After decades of playing and performing, what I love most now is passing down my musical knowledge to students. What really excites me is seeing it finally click for a student. That moment they finally nail something they’ve been struggling with for weeks.
I know learning guitar can feel frustrating in the beginning—Your fingers hurt, chord changes feel impossible, and progress feels slow. Or maybe you can “noodle” around the neck, but don’t really understand what you’re playing or why the notes work together. No matter where you’re at, I’ll meet you there and build a custom plan for you. We’ll focus on music techniques and concepts you can apply directly to songs, balancing what you want to learn with a bit of what you need to learn. And once you get that first “ah ha” moment, there’s no turning back.
I love playing all kinds of styles, but jazz and music theory are what really get me excited. Whether you want to play your favorite songs, go deeper into theory, or just feel proud every time you pick up the guitar, my goal is to help you get there and enjoy the process along the way.
