Music has been the center of my life since I began lessons at age five, leading me to earn a BA in Music from the University of Illinois at Chicago under Christopher Laughlin, followed by further performance studies at Roosevelt University under Paul Henry.
Through years of performing, writing, and collaborating with various bands and artists, I have developed a teaching philosophy centered on empowering the next generation. My approach combines sound fundamental techniques with creative exploration. I challenge students to play and feel critically by engaging them with constant questioning and active problem-solving.
A defining moment in my career was teaching a blind beginner guitar student. This experience required me to reinvent my techniques and communication style, and witnessing his progress solidified my commitment to adaptive and impactful teaching. Whether helping a shy student become a confident performer or guiding a student through a "lightbulb" moment, my goal is to adapt to each individual's learning style to make lessons both fun and effective.
